Who We Are
The Gorntazy Group is a financial and business advisory company which identifies and brings to investors high value investment opportunities with attractive and balanced risk-return profiles across various asset classes and sectors, including equities and fixed income, alternate investments, real estate as well private investment and project finance. Gorntazy focuses on sourcing investment capital for Asset Managers and business opportunities from its network of high quality state and private investors in the Middle East, China and certain emerging markets.
The Gorntazy Group currently comprises Gorntazy Capital Partners Ltd, an FCA approved, London based company, and Gorntazy Consulting Ltd, an off shore company administered from Monaco. Gorntazy was founded in 2008 by H.E Munir Akram, a former Pakistani diplomat, who served as Permanent Representative to the UN in New York (6 years) and Geneva (7 years) and was also Ambassador to the WTO and the European Union. He serves as Gorntazy’s Chairman and CEO and works out of Geneva and New York.
The Gorntazy Group has Directors based in London, Geneva, Dubai and Islamabad. It has representatives in Beijing, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Karachi. Gorntazy has partner companies in Riyadh, Beijing, Karachi, Islamabad and Hong Kong.

Over the course of a long diplomatic career, Gorntazy’s Chairman has established close relationships with key leaders and decision makers in the Middle East, China and several developing countries. These include current and former Prime Ministers, Ministers, Members of Ruling families, senior diplomats and heads of financial institutions and companies. These relationships have been instrumental in enabling Gorntazy to secure priority access to investor institutions in these countries and favorable consideration of the business propositions conveyed to them.
Gorntazy has also developed an extensive network of relationships with reputable asset managers and financial institutions in the US, Europe and Asia and with investor institutions, banks, family offices and HNWIs in the GCC, China, Hong Kong, Pakistan and other emerging markets.

Gorntazy’s investor base covers over a hundred investor institutions in the GCC, including SWFs, Pension Funds, Banks, Family Offices and HNWIs.
In China and Hong Kong, Gorntazy interacts closely with the State investment institutions, State-owned Banks and Insurance companies, and several private sources of investment capital, such as private Banks, Insurance companies, Asset managers and HNWIs.
Gorntazy also has access to state investment institutions in emerging markets such as Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Azerbaijan.

In the context of Project finance and execution, Gorntazy has developed strategic cooperation with influential companies and institutions in China, including the China Development Bank and Bank of China, as well as State Corporations ( such as Power China, Sinohydro, China Water and Power, China Construction, China Railway Construction, China Shipping Corporation, Shandong Power and Engineering and Construction ( SEPCO1), COFCO etc.
Gorntazy also has formed cooperative relationships with several prominent financial institutions and companies in the Middle East, China and HK, which enable Gorntazy to more effectively promote its Client’s financial products and offerings and secure early decisions on investment products and opportunities.
❖ Rigorous selection of Portfolio Managers, Financial Products and Investment Opportunities.
Gorntazy pursues a rigorous process of selecting the Clients and opportunities it markets. The process involves recommendations from respected industry experts, friends and colleagues in the financial and business world including former Clients, face to face meetings and due diligence reviews.
After establishing a relationship, Gorntazy works with clients to evaluate and identify funding sources and then approaches its network of investors and, together with the Client, presents detailed investment cases for consideration and approval.
❖ Concentrated Marketing.
Normally, Gorntazy markets only a limited number of Funds and Opportunities at any one time. It devotes considerable time and effort to introducing, explaining and promoting the selected Funds/Opportunities to identified investors from among its investor base. It participates actively in Client-Investor meetings and interaction at all stages.
Due its close relations with investors, Gorntazy is able to advise on the best approaches to secure allocations and positive decisions from these investors. Gorntazy usually suggests a 12 month period to successfully market a Fund. Direct investment opportunities usually require a shorter marketing period. Project financing decisions vary in time depending on the complexity of the project.

Since inception in 2008, Gorntazy has successfully represented a number of HFs, FoHFs and PE Funds and corporate clients and promoted several specific investment opportunities. Gorntazy has had a high rate of securing allocations from its investor base for well performing Funds and attractive opportunities.
It has also generated capital for Real Estate investments sponsored by reputable developers in attractive locations.Gorntazy has secured equity and debt financing and execution partners for infrastructure Projects sponsored by some of its Clients.
